This narrow hallway was designed by my previous design company, H & H interiors. The hall was dark, cold, and boring as you will see in this before picture.
We painted it a warm, cream color, added subtle but effective trim work all down the sides and end. The trim work alone in a long, boring hallway can add so much depth and intrigue. A gallery of even-sized artwork down the top was the perfect size and dimension for the space. I always like an interesting focal point at the end of the hallway and this painted tapestry added a classical and delightful touch!
I adore this colorful hallway designed by Melanie Miller. Proper illumination is important in a long hallway. The organically shaped sconces add a natural touch while also providing warm lighting. The orange chandelier is a show-stopper! The burnt orange benches provide a quirky touch while also allowing for extra seating for guests. The sisal rugs add a softness to the handsome wood flooring. The tasteful artwork ties all the modern and colorful elements together and takes up ample wall space for a focal interest point.
There is very little space to work within this hallway but what a clever touch with contrasting blue paint on the door and all the way down the ceiling. It fills the space and adds a modern, clean fresh look to the hallway. If you have a super narrow hallway, this is a great, inexpensive way to bring a striking look to your home!
Bobby McAlpine designed this space many years ago but I have always loved it. He used beautiful, custom drapery panels all the way down the hallway to add an uncommon flair and interest to the space. The hanging valances add an ethereal touch. The enchanting, warm landscape painting over the console adds a perfect point of interest at the end of the long one-of-a-kind hallway.
This handsome hallway by Garrison Stree Design is a perfectly portioned space with much to observe. The black paint contrasts tastefully with the stark white trim, wainscotting, and ceiling. The runner ties the two colors together while providing a little warmth to the space. The gold frames with black and white pictures work beautifully against the black walls. The hallway is small and narrow, but feels so much bigger because of all the striking architectural elements utilized in this space,
This hallway designed by Studio McGee is full of amazing natural light. I love how she mirrors the artwork to the window openings. She keeps the natural light as the centerpiece of the space. She provides plenty of light for the evening with the delightful glass round chandelier pendants all the way down the hallway. The chest is the perfect showpiece at the end of the long path, providing lots of storage and surface space for favorite collectibles.
This is another small and narrow hallway but Taldelakt did a fantastic job making every little inch count! The light gray paint gives the narrow hall lightness. The black-framed prints are striking. They are the perfect height and give you a visual wainscoting element along the bottom. The narrow white console provides a point of interest at the end, while not taking up much space. The black mirrors tie the black and white artwork in wonderfully and the beautiful wood floors are the perfect anchor for the entire design.
This space by Steven Gambrel, featured in AD magazine, is an architectural dream. The vaulted ceilings are magnificent and the high-gloss paint is the perfect touch of glamour and intrigue. The gallery of colorful artwork is a scene-stealer, making you feel as though you are walking through a modern museum. The painting at the end pulls your eye down the long hallway and is an alluring point of interest. The wall encasements bring more intimacy to each hall compartment I always appreciate a natural element in a space and this runner brings softness and organic touches to this fetching space.
This small hallway is soft and endearing. It isn’t typical to see plush runners in hallways but this one is delightful. It adds whimsy and coziness to the space. I adore the small bench and pillow grouping at the end. The family photos and warm blue walls add to the charm of the darling space.
Black and white photography adds a classy touch to any space. The white canvas and white frames are handsome and striking against this beautiful gray paint. The only decor in this small space is the photography and what more do you even need? The hallway is narrow and small but the visual impact of the framed photography makes a big statement. ! What a clever use of this small hallway!
I love this enchanting space by Life on Virginia Street. This house has a long hallway-combined foyer. It could easily have been forgotten or left barren! That would have been a shame since there really is a lot of space. I love the long French bench and custom pillows. I always love to see beautiful quotes and I love to see them made into gorgeous artwork. This quote art hangs charmingly over the French bench. The console on the other side is nice and roomy but because it is so open, it doesn’t take up much visual space. The chunky white lamps are quirky and fun plus provide extra lighting, as do, the well-placed pendant lights.
The company New Retro Made is a clever, custom furniture design company on Etsy. I love this super narrow console made for a long, hallway with little extra space. Sometimes there just isn’t room for the typical 12″-15″ console. This is the perfect size to add a small candle and vase of greenery. The simple round mirror is perfect above the tiny piece of furniture. This vignette surely doesn’t take up much room but what a visual impact! Sometimes custom is the way to go in small spaces.
