I absolutely love how this gorgeous room turned out. This space was designed when I was with my partnership, H & H Interiors a few years back and still has such an ageless look. We knew that our clients were looking for a romantic, antiqued look but wanted the comfort of a newer space.
Our first task was finding fabrics that were new but had a distinguished, timeless look. We found this gorgeous silk with a fabulous muted design. We loved the combination of the French blue with the browns, light creams, and beige. We were able to build the room around that fabric with the new and aged elements.
Our clients wanted the stability of a new bed but the look of an antique. We found this heavenly Hickory White bed and had it covered in this magnificent textured geometric print. The fabric is durable and stain-resistant yet amazingly stunning! The exquisite French detail across the top and bottom of the bed frame gives it an extra Old World touch. We paired it with two antique lamps that had them completely rewired and updated for maximum use as well as adding new dreamy silk shades.
We decided on this beautiful French Trumeau mirror and lovely aged architectural pieces for the antique fireplace that is original to the 150-year-old home.
The owners wanted a new rug for their bedroom but they still wanted it to fit the beautiful scheme of the space. We found this stunning wool and silk tone on tone rug that fit the timeless look of the entire room.
We added a split settee for some extra seating that can be portable and moved around the room. We loved how the white cream in the settee flowed against the rug.
We were just delighted in how well this room turned out. It just takes a little planning to add the vintage in with the new. In the end, we think the combination ended with stunning results.
