Suzanne Kassler is one of my all-time favorite designers. In this blog post, I wanted to highlight her use of neutrals and how she brilliantly adds a little color to these spaces for an amazing finish. The design concept is so genius because the room can be changed up so easily and quickly. I hope you love some of the examples I found as much as I do. Her designs will inspire you and rooms like these examples, can be easily mixed up as seasons and color preferences change.
Burnt orange is such a rich, vibrant color. Kassler adds burnt orange pillows on the sofa and a gorgeous throw. That is it, yet the room appears to be full of the hue. You can see a few other pops of this shade on the top of the round table and the legs of a console. The rest of the room is different shades of ivory and light gray. I love the combination of light gray with burnt orange.
In this sumptous space, Kassler adds just a few light peach pieces. The large ottoman is covered in gorgeous peach velvet. The beautiful French chairs are also covered in peach and delicious throw on the back. The exquisite silk rug also has just a hint of a peach shade. If you look closely at the magnificent ceiling, you will see it also has a subtle hint of a peach hue. The ottoman tray and whimsical lamps are in the same color family but a darker orange, a perfect pairing with the lighter peaches. The rest of the room is done in white, yet the room is full of life and vibrancy. It is such a gorgeous living room!
Is there anything Kassler can’t do? This is a jaw-dropping kitchen done entirely in rich, vibrant white. The only pop of color is the purple slipcover on the barstools. The shade of purple is cheerful and enchanting. What if you grow tired of the purple color? Well, simple, just change out the slipcovers!
The Kassler dining room above is a brilliant combination of ivories and creams with the smallest touch of blue. The walls are deep cream while the chairs and rug are different shades of creamy ivory. The only touch of color is in a few of the chairs scattered about the room in a lovely deep purple-blue. The deep brown French dining table is the perfect anchor for this astoundingly beautiful room!
This Kassler living room is exquisitely designed with crisp whites and a few touches of French blue. A gorgeous chair near the window is covered in lush velvet, as well as heavenly silk damask pillows on the sofa. There are touches of light blue on the opulent rug as well as on the trim of the curtains. A precious blue vase brings your eye to the fireplace. The rest of the room is different shades of white. The room is absolutely breathtaking and one of my favorite Suzanne Kassler rooms.
Kassler designed the most luxurious bedrooms and this one is no exception. The bedroom is mostly covered in ivory hues across the room but French blue is added to the bench, the trim in the curtains and pillows, the dust ruffle, and the pillow on the bed. It also has an opulent finish on the back wall of the enclosed space over the bed. She uses a little more color across the room but if you notice, the blue comes across as almost neutral. The entire look is peaceful yet lavish.
I hope you enjoyed these beautiful rooms by Suzanne Kassler. Changing up a room would be so easy in these mostly neutral spaces. Not to mention that the rooms are airy, light, and serene yet always so rich and full of beautiful details.
