Skirted console tables are a clever way to hide clutter and add stunning visual interest to your interiors. They work wonderfully in offices, foyers, dining rooms, living rooms, mudrooms, and in almost any nook or cranny in your home. I have included many of my favorite designs and ideas. I hope you enjoy and are inspired to add a skirted table to your interior.

This beautiful skirted table is a clean simple design that we (my former partnership, H & H Interiors) had custom-made with large flaps so that you can easily pull them up for quick access. The table was created for a man’s home office to cover his file cabinets that were originally placed around the floor. Developing this plan, not only kept all the file cabinets in one place but also beautified the space and keeps out all the clutter. We added a stylish border to complete the handsome design.

The space is much more clutter-free. I wish I had better before pictures. Putting all the files and filing cabinets underneath the skirted console freed up enough space to provide an attractive meeting area in front of the desk.

This skirted console design is perfect for a foyer. It adds color and visual interest while also providing storage for the homeowner and guest’s belongings. The 3 pleated designs in blue fabric with a white border are fresh and charming. It is such a fun, welcoming space to enter.

The black and white geometric Schumacher trim on the bottom is a wonderful touch to this simple, elegant design. This skirt is designed with no flaps, but is loose and provides easy access to any storge below. The linen fabric provides a natural look. The Chinese and Greek elements are a great juxtaposition to the simple yet sophisticated skirted console table.

A skirted console is a perfect solution to hide all the electrical components in a tv console! I love this black and white design with the striking black banding around the edges. The painted wood blacktop is a wonderful, stable addition to the piece. You can order your own custom piece from Kirtan Designs on Etsy.

I love a console behind a sofa. It adds a stunning visual element while also providing space for lamps and lighting behind your seating area. The rich, velvet skirted console design by Mark Gillette adds to this luxurious and opulent living room.

What a sumptuous space by Palmer Weiss Interior Design. This is PW’s explanation of this skirted table design, “Console table skirt with banded bottom, love how flat and perfect this is, achieved by NOT making these box pleated but made in “banners” with gusset behind”

A narrow skirted table is a perfect addition to a long hallway. It doesn’t take up much space but is sumptuous and ornate, not to mention- functional. The long trim at the bottom and the one long panel in the front give the small space a luxurious and grand appearance. The banding is a perfect balance to the tall height of the table.

A skirted console table works beautifully in tight, small spaces. Mark D. Sikes created this beautiful blue and white console with two flaps. He utilized narrow blue banding to complete the striking design. Even though this console is smaller, there is still plenty of room for storage. The octagon mirror and whimsical lamps complete this striking vignette.

Covered Tables can be the perfect way to hide shoes close to your back door or in your mudroom. Look at this simple, clever design featured in Better Homes and Gardens.

Skirted Console tables can be done simply and casually like the above design by Sherry Heart. A Simple white linen panel on top of darker linen is simple and stunning. Perfect for a lake house or beach house. What a great place to tuck away the towels and sunscreen!
There are countless ways to use skirted console tables in the home and many styles from which to choose! I hope this helps you guys find new ideas and inspirations. Please share some of your favorites in the comments.
