Bedrooms should be restful retreats and a soft space to land after a long day. Sometimes they can be cold and boring when consumed with too many wood pieces. An upholstered bed is a perfect way to break up the monotony of the wood and provide a cushy place to rest our heads.
Here are some examples of beautiful upholstered pieces created by my former design partnership, H & H Interiors. They are just breathtaking. I also added extra examples from a few of my favorite designers.
This is such a handsome bedroom. I love the juxtaposition of the dark wood nightstands with the light bedding. We had this headboard created with a nice height in a room containing extra high ceilings. It is such a fun look! The nailheads are the perfect touch and the shape is just a simple curve, completing the peaceful space.
The above French headboard is absolutely divine! We had custom fabric placed on a gorgeous Hickory White frame. I simply love the wing-style shape of the headboard and the upholstered sides. It is such a cozy and encompassing look for a bedroom.
I love this sweet bedroom created for a preteen girl. An upholstered headboard can be a perfect look in a child’s room, especially paired with gorgeous coordinating fabrics. The whimsical shape and extra height were lovely extra touches.
An upholstered headboard can be a wonderful way to display gorgeous art-like fabric. Headboards really don’t require a ton of fabric yardage so it is the perfect opportunity to splurge on a gorgeous print. A wonderful finishing touch is a throw created in the same fabric at the bottom of the bed.
Twin upholstered headboards are a fabulous look in this Suzanne Kasler bedroom. The gorgeous, gray sunflower-inspired fabric is carried throughout the room, including the precious benches at the end of the bed. The sumptuous fabric is also on the dust ruffle and window treatments.
This bedroom designed by the remarkable Phoebe Howard is beautiful and serene. Cream fabrics used throughout the room wrap the room in comfort and coziness. The simple yet elegant headboard is just perfect in this space.
Phoebe Howard created the perfect guest bedroom retreat!. Solid fabric is a great anchor on a headboard in a room that has a lot going on with different patterns. A beautiful abstract pattern floats throughout the room but the solid coral fabric on the headboard brings it all together in perfect harmony. Phoebe Howard is the queen of harmony and deliciously romantic spaces.
Tobi Fairley chose to cover this beautiful headboard in rich, blue velvet. I love how the dark blue anchors the room surrounded by lighter blues and creams. This space is handsome with the addition of fun, feminine touches.
Barry Dixon Interiors did not miss any detail in this romantic bedroom. I love the simple linen fabric on the curved headboard. It anchors the room just enough with a little simplicity against the large damask wall pattern and all the feminine pink across the room.
I love the simple square headboard covered in an exquisite ikat design. The gorgeous fabric is carried throughout the room including the dust ruffle and window treatments.
We hope these exquisite headboard designs will inspire you in your next bedroom makeover!
